AO2: Apply knowledge and understanding to show how meanings are created when analysing media products and when evaluating your own practical work.
AO3: Plan and construct media products using appropriate technical and creative skills.
AO4: Undertake and apply appropriate research.

  • You will have an individual blog which should be started at the beginning of your project.
  • The blog must include:
    • the process of research,
    • planning and production, including refinement,
    • changes and reflections on key moments,
    • any individual contributions if you have been working as part of a team,
    • any preliminary exercises,
    • the finished product, and
    • the creative critical reflection.
  • You must INDIVIDUALLY reflect critically on your finished project and include this in your blog (you may collaborate in the production of responses to the prompts below).
  • Your reflection can be in a creative digital format of your choice, e.g.:
    • director commentary
    • slideshow with voiceover
    • podcast
    • Prezi
    • screencast etc.
  • Your reflection must answer the following questions:
    1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
    2. How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
    3. How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
    4. How did you integrate technologies - software, hardware and online - in this project?
  • Key areas to address in the creative critical reflection are:-
    • forms and conventions,
    • production contexts,
    • the role of technologies,
    • audiences and representations.
  • Some tools and ideas to complete this evaluation are the Tools & Resources section under Tech Tools
